DAY 22 - Thank You, EARTH

The first Earth Day was celebrated in 1970 and is now celebrated internationally. In honor of the occasion, I challenge you to write a poem in keeping with Earth Day

The dawn, the chirruping
The light, the sight
Of the beautiful world
Clear sky, the mountains high
The gleaming River comes flowing by

I stretch, I yawn
In my lawn, wet with dew
The vivacious rose bed
Laden with pearls
The breeze swirls
The chilly shiver
Gives me tickle all over
The buzzing bee
On the fragrant marigold, hovers

In the lap of nature
Engrossed in the marvelous morning
I am unaware of the approaching twilight
That fades into dusk
Slowly night creeps in
I go to bed
To be lost in the lovely world
Of dazzling dreams!

Thank you, Earth
For the Day and night
For Pristine delight
And a blessed Life!

    1. Thank you Deepak, for finding it refreshing!
In contemporary times we need to be more mindful of our surroundings and pristine nature as we are getting entangled in the rat race. This surely helps us unwind!

    1. Oh yes Vandana, it is true that we forget earth and busy ourselves with modern lifestyle, so we should take out time to relax and have fun :)

  11. Loved your choice of Earth, the entire Gaia, as your "place" for the prompt at Real Toads. A good reminder to "think globally" as we act locally.

Your "vivacious roses" are to die for. Gorgeous homage to the planet we must save with every ounce of our being. Peace, Amy

  16. Lovely natural stuff, but for our Toads challenges (excepting Open Link Monday) we ask for new poems specific to the challenge, not old posts that seem to fit. The fault is mine, though, because I said "original" poem in my instructions, and this is an original poem. I apologize for being unclear. For future reference, it should also be a new poem, written specifically for the challenge.
