BLOOM THEY MUST

I was drowning
In the darkness
That surrounded me
Despite the brightness
All around me

I was plunging into depths
Where I was loosing the
capacity to bounce back

Losing all hope
I was lost
I felt there is no scope
for me to move on
go on, walk on.

the tears had dried
My heart was heavy
Some emotions wanted
to flow, some I just
Tried to hold

groping in the darkness,
I was gasping
trying to hang on to
a ray of light
a ray of hope
I found none.

I was shuddering
My insides were churning
I was praying

Then you came along
Your eyes shone,
Bright with delight,
Infectious,
I looked into them
I found a fine tune
Playing
As if life is a song

Song of love, hope
trial, patience,
Error and resurrection,

you gave me strength
to move on
to set my eyes
on a new goal
travel on a new path
for a new journey
readjust in the
existing scenario
and find my new role

As seasons change
so do fate
For renewed desires
Its never too late

when you found me
hazed and dazed
you gave me rose petals
on my palm

And you said:

Ephemeral they are
these beautiful flowers
love they shower
fragrance they spread
long after
you have plucked them
their quality they sustain
rose will be rose

Rose will be rose
wherever they bloom
whether seasons of
delight or gloom

Bloom they must!
So should you!

    1. Thank you Shwets, in the rat rat race of life many times we forget to live truly or are so lost in the problems that we need a push, a motivator, and our loved ones come to our rescue.

  35. Dear Kislaya, Bloom they must. Perfect title for one's own inner blooming, the metaphorical, as well as the realistic and oh-so-precious petals placed in your hand. It's a good reminder to take along with times are tough.

No matter how hard things got for me with manic depression, I have always felt there was something about to bloom inside me, and that alone got me through. But having rose petals pressed into your hand, MAN, that is a beautiful image. Namaste, Amy
