WOMEN ARE DIVINE BEINGS

Females are divine creation and when I say so I am also considering the other feminine creatures that inhabit the earth. They are endowed with the unique power to procreate and nurture. Without them the world would not have been what it is today!

Women were always seen with awe and wonder and have been revered for centuries. They have inspired great works of arts, literature, and sculptor to name a few. I wonder when this awe and respect turned to their disadvantage at some point of time in history. This has happened almost across major cultures, civilizations or religion.

With the passage of time, women were seen as objects to satisfy the carnal desires of men; which led to the violation of their human and sexual rights. This may be the source of prostitution and its brunt is still being borne by women of all ages. The hapless women were relegated to the background with no decision making power, often subjugated and brutalized at home, restricted within the four walls of the house. Beauty became their defining feature and intellect took a back seat and some notions are hard to die, thus one observes commercialization of beauty products and fairness cream, which lowers their self esteem and erodes their self worth.

Religion and culture morphed woman as a source of all sins. Their elegance and enamor was made their curse, by such religious dictum. Superstitions and myths took shape. Deliberate ignorance led to more downfalls.

  2. Hi Kislaya this is a very informative post.In olden times women were respected and were placed on a high pedestal. Over the years she began to be seen as object of pleasure. I t is really unfortunate to see the downfall of womanhood.

  4. Very comprehensive post, it is sad that somewhere down the line mankind forgot the divinity of nature and womanhood and began looking at them as mere tools for gratification...

  5. If you pick up history of religion most of them showed themselves to be of matriarchal in nature. Women were procreators and so they were revered as the more evolved species.over the years man started to use logic and said women is weaker (physically) but he forgot that his strength is due to his nine months as an embroyo and that strength giver was a woman. I know what is happening today saddens all of us but we must remember that we were always meant to be better people and its better to feel that you deserved the cake and couldn't have it rather than have it knowing you didn't deserve.

    1. You are very right, this happened during the course of history. And the point where you have said that men have derived their strength from their mother when he was in her womb, oh this is such a valid point if only eveybody could understand.
We are meant to be better people and realisation will help us in becoming one.

  10. The divinity of the female is still held true in a lot of cultures around the world. The problem is that misinterpretation as well as subversion of the same has turned the woman into something less than even common mortals.
Oh Woman, How great thy fall!

  12. Kislaya, I wonder if there is a major part being played by women themselves to ensure they remain subjugated. I work as a doctor and I see this happening very often. I wish our societies realise that emancipation of the woman needs to be very high on our agenda if they wish to see progress and development.

    1. I completely agree with what youbare saying but women are also afflicted by the same mindset of the society in which they are living. They are fed with the thought from the childhood days about being a weaker sex and their assigned role in the society. They see the discriminayion all around and accept it as thier fate and that it has continued for ages and they dont have power to change it, or challenge it and in this vicious cycle they also start perpetuating the same violence because they find nowhere to escape, so mindset is the culprit, that has to change for society as a whole.

  13. A good and thought provoking post indeed. Although Islam recognizes both parents, mothers are given particular gratitude and respect. This attitude of Islam is better understood if we realize the hardships and suffering that mothers experience in their lives. It was narrated by Abu Hurairah (R) that a man came to the Prophet (pbuh) and asked him, "Who amongst his near one had the greatest right over him?" The Prophet replied, "Your mother". The man then asked, "Who after that?" to which the Prophet replied again, "Your mother". Asked who is next, the Prophet again replied, "Your mother". When the man asked who after that, the Prophet said, "Your father".

In another narration the Prophet Mohammed (pbuh) said, "Paradise lies at the feet of mothers"...emphasizing that each of us should cherish and respect his/her mother and that pleasing them will serve well in the hereafter also.

Yes, Women are divine and Paradise lies at the feet of a Mother.

    1. Yes you are absolutely right, and it was good to know that first three places are occupied by our mothers, and divinity emanates from them as it is she who grooms us to be what kind of beings are we.
      Thanx for sharing your thoughts.

    1. Yes you are right, false perception of beauty has to be blamed, the real and natural beuty is getting lost in this commercialisation stripping us of all innocence and purity.
Thanx for dropping by and make an effort to strike a conversation.
