She was born in this world
With wide open arms,
She cried at first
then smiled at last

Fear was unknown
Fierce she was -
A lady in the making
Rutilant she was

No-one could tie her
to orthodox views
or persistent patriarchy
that saturated this world

Calm she stayed
whatever come may
She battled all odds
each day, every day

Her will exceeded
her strength,
Always ready
for every challenge

Bravely she faced
all circumstance
and did not leave
anything to Chance

She had the will
to be strong and still
in the face of
greatest upheaval

Unhindered by any
situation, that is dark
Fighting and surviving
gave her a spark

Her desire -
to make a mark
in this ephemeral life,
If needed to tread
alone and survive

Her desire -
to be a Woman
of her own volition,
To be independent and equal
to every other human!
