SHARD

Copyright: Dale Rogerson
Every time he was angry, he would puncture a hole in the glass door that separated his room from his sister's room.

His mother tried to take him to a therapist for anger control. He shouted madly and ignored her. Being a single mother was proving difficult.

But, his sister would patiently tape each hole. One day a shard hit her in one eye. She was blinded. After returning from the hospital she put two black duct tapes to remind him of the pain his actions had caused her and their mother.

That day he agreed to visit a therapist.

  1. A shame it took such an incident to make him see he needed help.

    1. Shame of course, but he realized in the end...I think he has taken a step in the right direction, though late

  4. Dear Kislaya,

It's a pity he had to cause some serious damage before being ready to seek help. Glad he did, though. Nicely done.

  5. Too bad only a permanent damage to his sister's eye could convince him to seek help. Nice take on the prompt.
